Varry White, Big Tiny Smalls, a man that goes by many names (but it seems rarely the one he was born with) is seldom seen without a camera.  I was browsing his Instagram feed today and came across this great streetstyle shot. I love how the dress, boots and big dark sunglasses all work perfectly together. I’m not sure who this young lady is, but she has a great look.  To see more of BTS’s work check out his site here.

Style on the Street – The Rumpus Room, Main St.

Today went headed down to Main St to visit the Rumpus Room for their one-year anniversary.  This was the second time we’d been there this week, and this time on top of the huge portions of delicious food, there were lots of stylish people to photograph!

Not only did this fellow have a great look going on with his boots, cuffed jeans, cowboy shirt and wayfarer sunglasses, but his name was Will, and I think that’s only the second time in my life that I’ve met someone with the same name as me.

Style on the Street – Granville

This girl completely pulls off minimalist punk. I never like to try and categorize someones personal style, but I think that describes this look. Sort of a less insane Lisbeth Salander.  I love when I meet people like this – I ask for a photo, and they agree and immediately strike a pose on a perfect angle.  Sometimes I wonder if these people are actually secretly models.

It was a beautiful end of summer day here in Vancouver today, so I took the opportunity to finally get out and take some street-style photos again.  When I made my way into Gastown, I came across these three gentlemen, who each had a good look going on, and as it turns out,  happened to be the owner and staff from Crome Yellow on Abbott St.

Nice guys with great style (who also own a very cool store).

Summer Wedding Style

Last night we attended an incredibly beautiful Vancouver wedding, and everyone looked amazing! I was just snapping photos with my iPhone, so I got a few good ones here and there.  I really think James pulls off the retro-classic man look extremely well, and thought this pic was worth sharing. It’s a simple classic look, but James is tall and lean, and pulls the look off properly. I like it.

Cheap Monday Celebrates UK opening with AW-12 pre-release

One of my favorite brands is opening a new store!  The opening will take place in the middle of London Fashion Week, and has pre-released some shots from their AW-12 campaign.  The folks at Cheap Monday hail from Sweden, and they do fashion a little differently…

Inspiration Autumn/Winter 2012:

For AW12 we are slowing down, focusing on the long cycles and evolution in nature. We have chosen a naturalistic approach, looking at the periodic table, natural history, DNA and fossils. French underwear brand Pull-In has teamed up with Brooklyn born lifestyle brand Entree to curate the ultimate designs in street wear.  Born in the coastal regions of South West France, Pull-In is widely known for their colorful all-over prints and superior quality of underwear.  Like-minded brand Entree embodies a similar design vision and outspoken concept.  With an urban mindset and “misunderstood” attitude, Entree’s designs in t-shirts, skateboards, hats and more have become a community staple.

LookBook x Dr. Martens #FIRSTANDFOREVER Pt. III

Style blogging website Lookbook.nu and Dr. Martens sent longtime lookbookers Shea Marie, Unyime Akpanudosen, Tahti Syrjala, Edward Honaker, & Lua P. a pair of Docs for them to style and asked them to share a personal memory of a first experience for the Dr. Martens “First and Forever” Project.

Here’s what they came up with….

Lua P. on her first pair of DM’s: “I entered a thrift store fantasizing about finding a pair of shoes similar to the classic Docs. When I saw the shoe rack and recognized some similar boots I ran to get them. I couldn’t believe they were actually vintage Dr. Martens…I died of happiness. They were waiting for me there to become my favorite pair of shoes!”

HANDMADE IN MANCHESTER – Me&Yu

I really like what Manchester designers Me&Yu are doing. Starting a label from scratch is a tonne of work, and I really appreciate the clothing they’ve produced so far. I also love the fact that it is not only hand printed, but a lot of the clothes are completely cut-and-sewn from scratch as well!
